RULES FOR RACING
-Since the beginning of County Speedway, we have structured our race nights by using qualifying sessions followed by heat races - followed by a feature race. However, in an attempt to simplify our race evenings and give equal track time to all drivers we will be changing our procedure starting with the 2021/2022 season. We will not be having qualifying laps or heat races - but instead will run a round-robin followed by a 50 lap feature race which will include the 4 drivers who have completed the most laps during the round robin. This will give everyone lots of track time and will also award us the excitement of a winner-take-all final race.
Points will be awarded for position during the round-robin, with bonus points for placing in the feature. Lane choice for the feature will be awarded to the driver who has placed 4th in the round-robin, followed by 3rd, followed by 2nd.
-Races do not stop for mechanical failure of the race car or controller
-Races may be stopped for red-flag conditions at the marshall's discretion when one or more cars are in danger of being damaged by oncoming traffic or when a car is riding in a wrong lane or when there is a major pile-up and the marshall will have trouble re-slotting the cars fairly (for example when cars are piled up under the bridge or 3 or 4 cars all crash into a pile)
-Intentional bashing of opponents cars may result in a black flag situation at the discretion of the marshalls
-If more than one car de-slots at the same time, the marshall is to replace the car that caused the accident last
POINTS SYSTEM
County Speedway holds races once a month. Points are collected each race night and drivers compete for an annual championship. Points are awarded for placement during the round-robin, and bonus points for placing in the feature.
Points are accumulated monthly and put towards the season championship. At the final season tally, all racers are docked the total points from their worst race night, that being 0 if they missed a race night. This allows all racers the grace of missing one race during the year and still being able to compete for the championship.
